Desert dessert

Here’s a suggestion for those looking for a treat that will impress vegans and omnivores alike: faloudeh. It’s a Persian rose-water sorbet with rice noodles that is light and incredibly refreshing. After all, much of Iran is desert, and one would think that the people who live there know a thing or two about cool pleasures. It’s best served with fresh-squeezed lemon to add harmonious tang to the sweetness—or with sour cherry juice if one has citrus allergies. Look for faloudeh at most Middle Eastern grocery stores, including the Golnazar brand at Mediterranean Market at 1547 Fulton Avenue.
