Whoever paired mint and chocolate together is a genius. Although the combo may not top the ice-cream-flavor polls (vanilla always wins), it’s a time-tested crowd favorite. It seems nearly all dairy and nondairy ice-cream companies make a version of it, many of which have been taste-tested by yours truly (the non-cow-juice kind, of course), including soy-, rice-, hemp- and coconut-milk based—even “raw”—ones. While each may possess its own charm, the indisputable victor is Purely Decadent’s soy-based Mint Chip. The cream is light, with a perfectly delicate mint flavoring, and instead of hard, brown chunks, it contains large, thin chocolate flakes that melt in your mouth. It’s supremely dreamy.
