Egypt slides in annual ranking of countries

After all of the intensity in Egypt and the turmoil leading up to the ousting of President Hosni Mubarak, it’s looking as though the Egyptian people may be able to vote in their next leader. But that country has become less favored in the eyes of Americans, according to Gallup’s annual World Affairs poll, conducted this month, ranking 21 countries by overall favorability. Egypt dropped by 18 points this year. Mexico didn’t see such a sharp decline, but over time the country has plummeted significantly. In fact, for the first time this year a majority of Americans gave the country an unfavorable rating. Not surprisingly, Iran and North Korea ranked at the bottom of the list. Here’s a look at the ranking from most favorable to least.
