Rob Becker: Flintstone or Rubble?

So you and your significant other understand that the two sexes are, well, hard-wired differently: “How can you sit in front of that damn tube all day watching football?” “I’ll tell you, if you can tell me how you can blow so much time shopping.” Indeed, you find plenty of humor in the specific details of those differences. Looking for some post-Christmas laughs along those lines? San Jose native Rob Becker brings his one-man hit play Defending the Caveman to Sacramento’s Community Center Theater. The play, which was written over three years beginning 1988, gave its first performance in 1991 and opened on Broadway in March, 1995. Opening night is 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, and the play runs through Sunday, Dec. 31, at the Community Center Theater, 1301 L St. Show times are 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; 7:30 p.m. Sunday; matinees 2 p.m. Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and 5 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $15-$55. 557-1999.
