Mark Kaiser

You know those high-and-mighty music aficionados who make you feel inferior for not knowing about the latest obscure band to release a 7-inch? Well, Mark Kaiser, founder of Omnibus Records (which has stopped production after 12 years) and co-founder of Mt. St. Mtn. (a new label Kaiser started with visual artist Jay Howell), isn’t one of them. On the contrary, Kaiser gets a thrill from introducing new music to whomever will listen. Here’s his Playlist:

1. “I Feel Like the Mother of the World”
by Smog (from A River Ain’t Too Much to Love)

2. “Time Has Come Today”
by the Chambers Brothers (from The Time Has Come)

3. “On the Pleasure of Hating”
by Hey Colossus (from a split 10-inch LP featuring Todd, Part Chimp, Lords and Hey Colossus)

4. “Calico”
by Marissa Nadler (from The Saga of Mayflower May)

5. “Ya No Ya Wanna”
by Coachwhips (from Peanut Butter & Jelly Live at the Ginger Minge)
