Ismail is perfectly cast as Crumpet the Elf in this Capital Stage production based on the true, sometimes mortifying but always hilarious experience of satirist David Sedaris as a department-store Santa’s helper. Shannon Mahoney directs as Ismail dons his embarrassing outfit and spills the beans of backstage at Santaland.
