Eight Gigs: Orgy

Sat., Aug. 15, 6:30 p.m., The Boardwalk, $15

Jay Gordon may be the only original member left in the electronic rock band Orgy, but instead of continuing the group's “indefinite hiatus” in 2005, Gordon decided to reform the group in 2010 with a completely new lineup. Orgy, best known for its popular cover of New Order's “Blue Monday,” now welcomes former Deadsy lead guitarist Carlton Bost, Bobby Amaro on drums, Creighton Emrick on rhythm guitar and synthesizer and Nic Speck on bass. Orgy's latest single, “Wide Awake and Dead,” was released last March and fueled by the band's latest EP, Talk Sick. Now, Orgy is on the road with its Sick Talk Tour. 9426 Greenback Lane in Orangevale, www.orgymusic.com.
