Dennis Yudt

The last time I saw SN&R contributing writer Dennis Yudt, he was manning the register at the Beat. He was ecstatic about compiling a Playlist or, in his words, a “record thingee.” Yudt explained that his list, like life, is totally random. Straying away from our traditional format of song, artist, album, here is a sampling of Yudt’s selections and thoughts:

1. “Some early ECM records: Barre Phillips’ Journal Violone II, Miroslav Vitous’ First Meeting.”

2. “David Crosby’s If I Could Only Remember My Name.

3. “Lots of dub reggae.”

4. “KDVS 90.3 FM. The only station you need. Really. Changed my life and still doing it constantly. Tune in and then break off the knob.”

5. “MV & EE’s Green Blues and Mother of Thousands, Sunn O))) and Boris’s Altar.”
