You may have missed the opportune time to get started on a winter garden, but there’s still time to get a good bounty. While some seeds need a good amount of warmth to germinate, others will do fine sown this time of year. For your other favorite crops, simply head to your local nursery or farmers’ market for some nice, hearty veggie starts. Here’s a variety of veggies to plant this month, either by plant or by seed.

Transplant crops:

Broccoli, cauliflower, kale, celery, cabbage, chard, leeks, bok choy.

Sow from seed:

Mustard, onions, beets, parsnips, peas, radishes, spinach, carrots, lettuce.
