Generations of influence …

Called “the father of American graphic design,” the late Paul Rand (1914-1996) is honored with a career retrospective at the Albert E. Warrens Reception Center, situated at 341 Mansion Ave. If you’re not familiar with this venue, you’re not alone. As it happens, it used to be referred to as the University’s “President’s Mansion,” although now, apparently, this is discouraged. In any case, a reception occurs at the center 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, followed by guest lecturer Kyle Cooper at the BMU Auditorium at 8 p.m., who talks about Rand’s considerable influence on our culture.
