It’s the fall salmon run on the American River. At the Nimbus Fish Hatchery in Rancho Cordova, hatchery workers remove thousands of eggs from the salmon who’ve come back to the area to spawn. The eggs are then fertilized and hatched. And later the young fingerlings will be released back to the river to start the cycle over.
