If you’ve had it up to your Santa hat with snowmen, reindeer and the Grinch, Storybook Children’s Theater understands. The company’s decidedly non-holiday-themed production of King Arthur opens this Saturday. Follow young Arthur’s adventures with Merlin and Guinevere as he seeks to defeat his archrival, Morgan Le Fey. See if Arthur can pull the sword from the stone and become his kingdom’s rightful heir. There are no sleigh bells and no “Bah, humbug!” The characters will never pause to lecture you about the true meaning of Christmas. Doesn’t that sound refreshing? King Arthur plays at noon and at 2 p.m. on Saturdays through January 10. Admission is $5 at the 24th Street Theatre, located at 2791 24th Street. Call (916) 207-1226 or visit www.runawaystage.com for more information.
