Carrie Brownstein, guitarist and vocalist of on-hiatus Sleater-Kinney fame, and Fred Armisen, of Saturday Night Live, teamed up to create ThunderAnt, a DIY-style sketch-comedy duo. The site features four sketches (plus one outtake) of earnest characters—including themselves—humorously writing “The Perfect Song,” dating, making a cable-access show and running a niche bookstore. Brownstein and Armisen even penned the theme song for the stop-animation intro. The oldest video posted is from 2004, featuring Armisen as the still-alive Saddam Hussein. It’s baffling at first why the former dictator of Iraq speaks with a British accent, but it works, and even provides some PSAs: “Don’t eat animals, please: They’ve got parents!”
