Earth Day Oak Woodland Planting

Sacramento is widely known as the City of Trees—and that's a good thing. Trees provide leafy shelter, add character to a neighborhood and, best of all, produce clean oxygen for breathing. Why not add another to the mix? On April 20, join the Sacramento Tree Foundation in planting trees at the Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge in Elk Grove. Under the guidance of experts, volunteers will learn how to plant small oak seedlings and native shrub cuttings. Binoculars, gloves and warm clothing are suggested.
