Take that step

Farm animals do so much for humans: They feed and clothe us with the ultimate sacrifice—their lives. But the vast majority of these animals are from factory farms, where cruelty is standard practice. One need not be vegan to agree that’s wicked lame. But we can amend the situation with baby steps toward compassion, like joining Farm Sanctuary’s Walk for Farm Animals. The organization has been rescuing and rehabilitating factory-farmed animals since 1986, and on Saturday, October 15, Sacramentans can support its life-saving efforts by joining the walk, with food, music, raffles and festivities afterward. Or, just make a donation, or sign up for a “virtual walk” for lazy bones! Do it at http://tinyurl.com/sacwalkforfarmanimals.
