It’s time to get outside and appreciate the simple life—the really simple life in the native Californian Indian fashion. The Yuba Historical Society will host a Primitive Middle Mountain walk in the Sutter Buttes on Sunday, May 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Chuck Kritzon, an old-ways specialist at the Maidu Interpretive Center, will guide participants to several Maidu and Wintun Indian encampments and will demonstrate his handiwork in making tools used by the Native Californians. It might be useful information someday. The hike is $15 for YHS members and $25 for nonmembers. To register, get directions or for more information, call (530) 846-3024 or visit www.yubahistory.com.
