Michael Tuohy is the executive chef of the new Grange restaurant in The Citizen Hotel. He’s a recent transplant from Atlanta and already has discovered some favorite things here in Sacramento.

“The Sunday morning farmers’ market [under the freeway at Eighth and W streets] is just fantastic,” he says. “I like the energy and the fresh produce. Everyone’s just in an amazing mood, and the availability here of local products is way larger than in Atlanta.

Temple Fine Coffee and Tea, right next door to Grange, just does coffee right. The quality speaks for itself.

“There’s a very alive and vibrant Slow Food community here. Between the Yolo and Sacramento convivial, they’ve got a lot going on.”
