The Launch music, fashion, architecture, art and design festival goes down this Saturday, July 23, at the Greens Hotel, 1700 Del Paso Boulevard; 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., $20, http://5432launch.wordpress.com.

So, uh, Neon Indian is not playing this year’s Launch and had to cancel last minute. Bummer, perhaps, but this is Sacramento: We’re used to disappointment!

And the festival still will rule the weekend. I mean, in addition to the bands, fashion shows and vendors, visual arts and design exhibits, there’s a damn pool party, hosted by deejays Mike Diamond, My Cousin Vinny and Jon Droll. It’s July in Sacramento, there’s a pool—no-brainer.

Plus, all sorts of arts and culture radness: musical performances by Ganglians, Sister Crayon, Free the Robots, the Chain Gang of 1974, Who Cares, Little Foxes, D.A.M.B., Resa, the Dreaded Diamond, Exquisite Corps, Favors, Evrika, Sam I Jam, Adam J, Taylor Cho. Basically, more bands and deejays in one day than you’ve seen all year combined.

And this is not to mention art, architecture, furniture and fashion shows and exhibits, plus vendors such as the Citizen Rosebud, Fringe, Esef, First Edition, Heart Clothing Boutique, Legacy Boutique, Scout Living, Article, Freestyle Clothing Exchange and many more.

So, don’t forget: 1) cash for vendors, 2) yer swim trunks or bikini, 3) earplugs for hours of sick tunes and beats, 4) a ticket, which will set you back only 20 bucks. Rumor has it everyone from Sacto will be at this daylong event, so you have no choice but to get with it and Launch.
