Fri, Sept 11, So Called Tragedy

This band is not the musical incarnation of Claire Danes’ film career. Or at least hopefully not; Terminator 3, Shopgirl, The Mod Squad—it’s been a long, strange trip for Danes since My So-Called Life’s success. Tragedy, however, is anything but: They’ve got a downtown headlining gig this week and, according to their MySpace page, also are recording a new full-length. This means 10-plus new songs with chorus-drenched verses, balls-out nu-metal choruses and vocals that make you want to put on a fuzzy sweater and hug someone. Maybe Danes?
