Megami

1010 10th St.
Sacramento, CA 95814

(916) 448-4512

Lunch hour means 60 minutes (or less with our boss!), so eating out had better be quick, and preferably tasty and cheap. Megami meets those requirements as well as anyplace downtown. Even though their lunch-hour line might be out the door and every table occupied, you will somehow be seated and served within 10 minutes. The restaurant buzzes with table chatter and one hears the quick chop, chop, chop of the chef’s razor-sharp knife. Megami dishes up a great chicken teriyaki (even better is the yakiniku if you like spicy), each platter bearing a generous helping of charcoal-grilled and sliced breast, a mound of steamed rice and a pile of sautéed bean sprouts. Megami also serves up a respectable Chinese chicken salad, reasonably priced sushi and Bento boxes of various combinations. You will push away from the table with happy taste buds, change in your pocket and minutes of lunch hour to spare. 1010 10th Street, 448-4512. Lunch and dinner, Monday-Friday.
