Blueberries

While we grow practically everything in California, blueberries usually evoke colder climes like Maine and Michigan. In fact, we’re one of 10 states that make up the majority of U.S. commercial production. Blueberries are just appearing in markets locally. They’re packed with powerful antioxidant anthocyanin, so it’s wise to eat them frequently. Luckily, that’s easy to do. Put blueberries in baked goods, over cereal and yogurt, swirled into ice cream, blended into smoothies and pureed into sauces for meat and fish.
