Associated Students election includes local-food measure

Chico State students who want to send a message that they want to eat locally and healthfully have a chance to make their voices heard during the Associated Students’ spring elections.

Today (April 23) is the last day for students to head to the polls. On this year’s ballot is an advisory measure suggesting that the university purchase at least one-third of the food and beverages sold on campus from Butte County farms and businesses.

To get the measure on the ballot, students from Geography 440 gathered more than 3,000 signatures over the course of two weeks.
