Oroville PE teacher accused of sex with students

A P.E. teacher at Las Plumas High School was arrested last Friday (Oct. 30) for allegedly having sex with students, according to a Butte County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Lindsay Himmelspach, 33, is accused of sending nude photographs of herself to and engaging in sexual activities with two male students, one from Las Plumas and another from Prospect High School, during the 2015 summer break. Oroville Union High School District Superintendent Corey Willenberg contacted the BCSO after an anonymous caller reported one of the alleged relationships to the school.

Himmelspach (pictured), who formerly played softball at Pleasant Valley High School and Chico State, was booked into Butte County Jail. She was charged Monday (Nov. 2) with two felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Her bail was set at $90,000 and she's been placed on paid administrative leave from the school district.
