Great combo: green tea and tai chi
Excellent benefits of drinking it up while getting exercise
Tea connoisseurs often swear by the medicinal benefits of some varieties, and in the case of green tea, current research out of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center appears to back them up. The new study not only focused on the benefits to post-menopausal women of drinking green tea, but also the synergistic benefits from concurrently practicing tai chi. While the former resulted in evidence showing improved bone health within three to six months, the latter showed a reduction of oxidative stress—a precursor to inflammation. In other words, the combination could help reduce the occurrences of osteoporosis and other inflammatory diseases.
