Give blood this winter

National Blood Donor Month aims to buoy the supply

It’s January for a few more days, which means it’s still National Blood Donor Month. The idea behind the annual celebration is to buoy donations during the winter, when it’s more difficult to hold blood drives. But don’t fret if you cannot make it in by the end of this month. February is wide open. Your donation will add to the supply that helps patients with diseases, organ transplant recipients and accident victims. To donate locally, contact the nonprofit BloodSource at 893-5433.
