More Americans want Congress to vote against raising debt ceiling

Americans have warmed only slightly to the idea of raising the debt ceiling over the past couple of months, according to the latest poll on the subject. In May, 19 percent of respondents were in favor of taking that measure, while 47 were against the step (34 percent were not sure). This time around, as recent as July 10, a marginal increase in respondents (22 percent) were in favor of Congress taking such action.
