Cali’s best and worst

Fremont, Irvine and San Bernardino ranked based on their livability for families

Golden State communities are constantly making lists—from most expensive to happiest places to live—and a couple recently made it onto one titled “2017’s Best & Worst Places to Raise a Family.” According to Washington, D.C.-based credit service company WalletHub.com, Fremont and Irvine ranked as the fifth- and ninth-best cities, respectively, for families. Analysts compared the 150 most populated U.S. cities and looked at five key areas, including family fun; health and safety; education and child care; affordability; and socio-economics.
