CUSD and trustees talk about the prospect of public negotiations

A top Chico Unified School District administrator said this week the district would embrace open union negotiations, an idea being floated by a couple of the members of the Board of Trustees.

That’s the word in a new story published by Leslie Layton in ChicoSol, a bilingual online news site. Bob Feaster, CUSD assistant superintendent for human resources, said he cannot find any “legal prohibition” against doing so.

The union, however, doesn’t sound keen on the idea. John Jenswold, president of the Chico Unified Teachers Association, said public negotiations could complicate matters. Read more about this issue at ChicoSol.org.
