Annie B’s will keep on going

A $250,000 pledge will buoy grant drive aiding nonprofits

The North Valley Community Foundation’s super-successful Annie B’s Community Drive will continue for at least another five years, thanks to a $250,000 pledge by two local philanthropists.

According to Alexa Valavanis (pictured), NVCF executive director, these are the same two anonymous donors who helped get the grant program on its feet back in 2007 by pledging $50,000 annually to the effort.

NVCF matches those funds with local donations, and then that $100,000 grant is spent during the annual eight-week-long Annie B’s by matching a percentage of the donations taken in during the drive by local participating nonprofits.

Annie B’s is named after Annie Bidwell, the wife of Chico’s founder, John Bidwell. For more info, visit www.nvcf.org.
