Man solicits prostitute, gets robbed at gunpoint

A man who allegedly solicited a prostitute at the University Inn on Main Street in Chico says he was robbed at gunpoint on Monday (May 30).

The man, whose name has been withheld, reportedly met with McKayla Cahill—a 19-year-old from Oroville—in one of the hotel rooms, according to a Chico Police Department press release. After using the bathroom, he returned to the bedroom and found Cahill on the phone; soon after, a man later identified as Jonathan Willis, 29, of Sacramento, allegedly came in the room with a handgun and demanded cash. The man complied, left the hotel and called the police.

Officers arrived and arrested Willis for robbery and being a felon in possession of a gun; Cahill was arrested for robbery. Both were booked into Butte County Jail.
