Trippin’

Rated 2.0 Procrastinating high school senior Gregory “G” Reed (Deon Richmond) spends more time daydreaming than filling out his college applications in this crude comedy from first-time director David Raynr. This recklessly constructed mix of social messages, sexual fantasies and street profanity certainly won’t be accused of trying to preach to the choir as G surrounds himself with imaginary, scantily clad sex kittens while trying to impress a studious female student (Maia Campbell). G’s hilarious scenes with his mom (Aloma Wright), dad ( Harold Sylvester) and grandfather (Bill Henderson) nearly make this hip-hop comedy work.
