MuteMath is a post-rock group. For those ecstatic about all things “post,” MuteMath will fit your bill this week. The band started in 2001, and its rise to fame began with supporting Mae and Circa Survive, then Alanis Morissette and Matchbox Twenty (post-kewl!). All this means that its likely MuteMath’s previous incarnation, a church-rock project, probably broke up almost a decade ago. (Or maybe not; don’t we live in a post-church-rock world?) Anyway, they’re from New Orleans, so get your Bourbon Street on, unless you’re post-sexual. Wait, since MM performed the theme for Transformers, does that mean they’re also post-terrestrial? 1417 R Street, www.myspace.com/mutemath.
