With a name like Loudon Snowden Wainwright III, a great sense of humor is almost inevitable. Wainwright has the quirky ability to produce goofy novelty songs like “Dead Skunk (In the Middle of the Road),” his only hit, as well as more meaningful, nearly soulful, autobiographic work. Dedication to his craft has paid off over the years, allowing Wainwright to work with moderate success as an actor in comedies such as Knocked Up and The 40 Year Old Virgin. Though his work has been admired by many of the past three decades, even achieving him two Grammy nominations, it seems the older he gets, the wiser and wittier he becomes. 314 W.
