This week, California Musical Theatre's summer Music Circus series revives Brigadoon. This 1947 musical was the first big hit for the songwriting team of Lerner and Loewe (who would later write My Fair Lady and Camelot). Audiences just after World War II loved shows involving an escape to a hidden paradise where the world's troubles faded from the mind. In this show, two American guys on a hunting trip stumble upon a mysterious Scottish village from the past that emerges from the mist of time for just one day, every 100 years. Needless to say, there's a love story involving a Scottish lassie which unfolds through plenty of singing and dancing. And, chances are, there will be a kilt or two. $35-$89, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; 7:30 p.m. on Friday; at the Wells Fargo Pavilion, 1419 H Street; (916) 557-1999; www.sacramentomusiccircus.com.
