Did you know that July is National Ice Cream Month? Here’s the scoop: On July 9, 1984, then-President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation, declaring ice cream a “nutritious and wholesome food.” He called upon the people of the United States to observe the occasion with “appropriate ceremonies and activities.” Reagan won’t be observing anything this July, but we can keep his spirit alive by satisfying our own sweet tooth. This summer, BloodSource and Baskin-Robbins will team up for the “Give a Pint, Get a Pint” blood drive. Donate a pint of blood before August 31, and you’ll receive a coupon redeemable for a pint of Baskin-Robbins ice cream—yummy! Head to any BloodSource location (there’s one at 1625 Stockton Boulevard) for your pint-for-a-pint coupon. Call (866) 82-BLOOD or visit www.bloodsource.org for a location in your area or for more information.
