Shoes and shirts are required. But then, you already knew that, being psychic and all.

At least, that’s what the tagline for her late-night television infomercial claimed. The “Jamaican-born” clairvoyant was the host of the Psychic Readers Network, a pay-per-minute phone service for psychic advice—that is, until she ran into unseen trouble. Turned out that Miss Cleo was born in Los Angeles, not the Caribbean (yes, the Jamaican accent was fake). Oh, and another thing: Miss Cleo was an actress, not a psychic. If the Miss Cleo scandal shattered your belief in psychics, stop reading. If you’re still a believer, the Sacramento Berkeley Psychic Institute has a class for you. During the six-week meditation class, students will learn to recognize their own psychic abilities. Class begins this Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and costs $150. Classes will follow on successive Wednesdays. Classes will be held at the Berkeley Psychic Institute of Sacramento at 2018 19th Street. Call (916) 441-7780 to register or for more information.
