Who’s in Bed With the Butler? is a question posed by the title of a new comedy by Michael Parker. The answer is a trio of beauties, each a former lover of the butler’s deceased boss—an old moneybags who left each of the three ladies a multimillion-dollar bequest. Set in a wine country estate somewhere in Northern California, this naughty-but-nice show is a sort of hybrid of Move Over, Mrs. Markham and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, with a malaprop-spewing private investigator thrown in. Playwright Parker, whose specialty is the bedroom farce, stars as the butler. It’s a frothy evening of community theater—you can forecast the outcome of many of the routines, but you’ll probably laugh at several of them even so.
