If city living’s got you down, grow a forest inside your apartment and try the rural life. All it takes is a little bonsai know-how. The Asian art of relentlessly pruning trees until they grow into miniature versions of their towering brethren has been developed over millennia. All that knowledge will be passed on to you at the Sacramento Bonsai Club’s 57th annual Bonsai Show. Shop for trees and learn how to care for them. Show hours are noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Bay Area bonsai artist Boon Manakitivipart will demonstrate bonsai care each day at 2 p.m. Admission is free. The Bonsai Show will be held at the Sacramento Buddhist Church, 2401 Riverside Boulevard. Call (916) 630-1340 for more information.
