Tastes like California

Avocados

When people hear you’re from California, they usually think two things: You surf and you eat avocados every day. The latter comes from every magazine and TV show doing a “California” sandwich layered with bright green guacamole. The truth is, though, we do eat them a lot. Why shouldn’t we, when they’re full of good fats and flavor? Look past the ubiquitous Hass variety and top your morning toast with sliced Bacon avocado or long thin Pinkerton varieties. (The Bacon doesn’t really taste like pork, but try it anyway.)
