The guy who usually writes about art in this space, Tim White, begged off this week, and it’s too damned hot to venture out of air-conditioned comfort to hit an actual brick-and-mortar art gallery. So, here’s a fine virtual gallery, titled www.artpimpgallery.com, where the couch-tuber-aesthetic enthusiast can point, click and groove on some rather fine visuals. Site founder Rhett’s work can be found in the “magenta room”; other artists featured include Mike Rodriguez (red), Dan Lorenzo (green), Paige Labrie (blue), Chris Botta (yellow), Dwight Head (orange) and Kiny McCarrick (purple). The art featured tends to run more toward primitive, twisted and whimsical. Oh, and it’s open 24-7, but you’ll have to hit a real gallery to scam some free hors d’oeuvres and boxed wine.
