Sunday feasts

What a weekend for eating. Freaks of the Industry is back with another raucous pop-up dinner on Sunday, March 20, at de Vere’s Irish Pub (1521 L Street). Chefs from de Vere’s, Kru, LowBrau, Block Butcher Bar, Grange Restaurant & Bar, Hawks Provisions and Public House, Fish Face Poke Bar and Cadence in San Francisco will collaborate on a multicourse dinner highlighting Irish, Scottish, English, German and Hungarian cuisine. A St. Patrick’s Day afterparty will follow, so get mentally and physically prepared. Find $60 tickets—plus service fees—at www.brownpapertickets.com. On the same evening, another one-off dinner with a decidedly different mood is taking place at the Sunday farmers market location at W and Sixth streets. It will celebrate the unveiling of the region’s largest mural, “Bright Underbelly.” Chef Patrick Mulvaney will prepare a meal inspired by the four seasons, paired with live music and New Helvetia’s bergamot-flavored Bright Underbelly IPA. Those tickets start at $100 and are available at www.eventbrite.com.
