Sat, Sept 5, Drew Grow

Sophia’s Thai Kitchen, 10 p.m., $3

Drew Grow and the Pastors’ Wives’ music is nearly impossible to categorize, but if one had to choose a similar artist to compare Grow’s to, it would have to be Radiohead. Both artists heedlessly meander through different genres. Every one of his songs is like walking into a different room of a different house in a different country, but his crusty, whiskey-tainted voice is a constant guide through the maze of acoustic guitars, multilayered harmonies and electronic-drum samples. And if you’re editing some superartsy black-and-white montage of people riding bikes, I’ve got your soundtrack right here. 129 E Street in Davis; www.myspace.com/drewgrow.
