The third annual In the Flow Sacramento Jazz Festival begins Friday and runs through Monday at Beatnik Studios and Luna’s Café & Juice Bar. More than 20 jazz musicians from the Sacramento area; Los Angeles; Portland, Ore.; and the Bay Area will perform during the weekend, including experimental jazz heavyweights Vinny Golia (pictured above) and Nels Cline, as well as local jazz masters Harley White Jr., Ross Hammond and more. Don’t expect mainstream jazz—this weekend is going to be raw, somewhat improvised and awesome.
