Sat., May 04, Nacho Business

Fox & Goose, 9 p.m., $10

These past couple years, there's been a bit of a revival of fun, sunny girl-rock bands. There is San Francisco's the She's, who are getting some serious buzz, as well as Peach Kelli Pop from Ottawa, Canada. Locally, we have Nacho Business (which is technically two-thirds women). Its songs are as cute as they are punk, with a sliver of dissonance and a lot of bright and cheery melodies. It sounds most like Oakland's Hot Toddies, who mix in some 1960s garage rock and not just pure 1990s twee pop. Like Hot Toddies, Nacho Business writes seriously fun music that gets stuck in your head for days. 1001 R Street, www.facebook.com/nachobusinessband.
