Quitter, working up to an epiphany of sorts at the Capitol Garage.

A couple of weeks ago, we mentioned that Frank Jordan will be playing this year’s South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas. Another local band making that trip is Quitter, one of the area’s leading exponents of a style that falls somewhere between so-called emocore and 1970s-revival prog rock—think Achtung Baby meets Hail to the Thief, with a smattering of early Roxy Music. Quitter will play the festival on March 20 at a venue called Sake on Sixth, but this weekend it will headline a bill—on Friday, February 27—at the Capitol Garage, 1427 L Street. The bill also includes Red Top Road, Supermodel Suicide (love that name, lads!) and Revere; the latter features former members of Tenfold, Singe, God Among Men and Element of Surprise. Looks like a fine evening’s worth of sonic abuse. The show starts at 8 p.m., and the cover charge is $8.
