Hella celebrates its just-released 5 Rue Christine/Kill Rock Stars album The Devil Isn’t Red—a nifty mélange of what a Japanese noise-band tribute to Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band’s Trout Mask Replica might sound like, mixed up with some King Crimson and a few other fine non-consonant musical assaults—this weekend. The show is at the Capitol Garage, 1427 L Street, this Sunday, January 25, with Deadweight and Pittsburgh Beastie combo Grand Buffet. Call club for time and cover. Elsewhere, local label Dig Music showcases a few of its artists not named Jackie Greene on Thursday, January 22, at Harlow’s, 2708 J Street. You can check out Looking Star, Honeyspot and Victory Gin, starting at 10 p.m., for $7.
