Certain weekends take on a theme, or vibe, based on what’s bubbling up to the surface. This particular weekend, as the Sun slips from Aquarius into Pisces in hot pursuit of Uranus, there are several shows worth a goatee scratch or two. On Friday and Saturday, February 20 and 21 respectively, at the Radisson Hotel, 500 Leisure Lane at Highway 160, a pair of shows celebrate the birthday of the late reggae god Bob Marley. The Friday show features the Wailers with Aston “Family Man” Barrett, along with local band Zion Roots. Saturday’s show features the St. Croix band Midnite, along with former Davis hip-hop performer Lyrics Born. Both all-ages shows start at 9 p.m.; admission is $20, or $30 for both nights. And on Saturday, February 21, at Old Ironsides, 1901 10th Street, Bay Area jazz/hip-hop trio Broun Fellinis will appear, with the Pleasure Seekers opening. The show is 21 and over only, starts at 9 p.m. and costs $8.
