1999 has come and gone, but Prince fans still go crazy for the bite-sized pop superstar. In 2004, the man formerly known as Prince Rogers Nelson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his contributions to the music industry. This weekend, the Pulse Dance Ensemble will pay tribute to the one-man tour de force with its production Icon: A Tribute to Prince. The 13-member, all-female dance ensemble will get down to classics like “Purple Rain,” “Let’s Go Crazy” and “Nothing Compares 2 U.” The dances, mostly choreographed by the ensemble’s founder, Summer Ayala, will incorporate various dance styles, including ballet, modern, hip-hop, jazz and tap. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Guild Theater, located at 2828 35th Street.

Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Call (916) 448-STEP for more info.
