Given the events of the last six months, it doesn’t take any stretch of the imagination to picture the spiritual descendents of Vlad the Impaler inhabiting a large white edifice in our nation’s capital—witness such comics as Bill Maher cracking wise that a cadaver dog recently broke away from the search for missing intern Chandra Levy and was found humping Vice-President “Tricky Dick” Cheney’s leg. In that fine spirit comes the San Francisco Mime Troupe’s production of 1600 Transylvania Avenue, which touches down in Sacramento this Thursday, July 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sierra 2 Center’s 24th Street Theatre, 2791 24th St. in Curtis Park. SFMT shows are usually riotously funny, unless you’re a dittohead, and this looks to be no different. Admission is $16, $12 for kids, seniors and students and $10 for groups of 10 or more.
