National Security

Rated 1.0 Martin Lawrence is his usual smug, sassy, seething self in a reactionary, racist, anti-cop movie about racism that is dressed up as an action-comedy. Even the usually hilarious Steve Zahn is wasted, as Lawrence is booted from the Los Angeles police academy and has policeman Zahn sent to prison on harrassment and excessive-force charges. The two law-enforcement junkies then wind up working as guards for the same security company and hunt down smugglers led by a hammy Eric Roberts. This loud, lame testament to the brain death of Hollywood is directed by sometime Adam Sandler collaborator Dennis Dugan (Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore).
